In module one, we will learn about the different types of special educational needs and gain a better understanding of the role of an SEN teacher. It also includes an overview of the effects of SEN on learning development.
Module 02: SEN SupportIn module two, we will explore the ways in which teaching assistants can provide SEN support, taking a look at the benefits of SEN teaching and its importance in childhood development.
Module 03: High-Quality Teaching for Pupils with SENIn module three, we will take an in-depth look at techniques and strategies for incorporating quality SEN learning support in the classroom environment, exploring the SEN code of practice.
Module 04: SEN Teaching MethodologiesIn module four, we will be introduced to some common SEN teaching methodologies and approaches, developing the skills to communicate effectively with SEN pupils.
Module 05: Communication and InteractionIn module five, we will explore communication and interaction between pupils and SEN teaching assistants, developing our interpersonal skills along the way. We will also focus on how to provide learning su[por that is tailored to each individual’s needs.
Module 06: Cognition and LearningIn module six, we will gain a better understanding of cognition and learning difficulties, with examples. It covers the requirements fo children with specific learning needs.
Module 07: Social, Emotional and Mental Health DifficultiesIn module seven, we will explore some common social, emotional and mental health difficulties, taking a look at their causes, development and treatment.
Module 08: Sensory or Physical NeedsIn module eight, we will take a look at the various sensory and physical needs of children with special educational needs, as well as the impact of sensory and physical impairment on learning.
Module 09: Working in PartnershipIn this final module, we will learn why it is important to work in partnership in SEN teaching, including the benefits and barriers to working in partnership. It also covers the responsibilities of parents of children with special educational needs.
