Module 04: Solutions Used in Clinical/Medical Laboratory

Module four contains a discussion about the various types of solutions used in a Clinical laboratory. You will learn about different types of solutions such as Percent Solutions, Molar Solutions, Normal Solutions, Staining Solutions, Standard Solution, Buffer Solution, Dilution of Solution and their chemical grades.

Module 05: Sterilisation, Disinfection and Decontamination

From module five you will learn in detail about the process of Sterilisation, Disinfection and Decontamination.

Module 06: Laboratory Accidents and Safety

This module discusses in detail about various types of hazards that can happen in a laboratory including Chemical, fire and electrical hazards. You will also find out how to decontaminate wastes and the basic first aid in case of havoc.

Module 07: RIDDOR

In module seven we look into The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations(RIDDOR) 2013. The requirements for an incident to be reportable. The method of reporting incidents and their precautions and first aid.

Module 08: COSHH Explained

This module explores the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations(COSHH) 2002 its importance and applicability.

Module 09: COSHH Regulations

Module eight goes further details into the COSHH regulations and employer and employee responsibilities to enforce the regulations.

Module 10: Health Problems Related to Hazardous Substances

This module enlightens learners into the possible risks associated with being exposed to hazardous substances and different ways the harm can be prevented.

Module 11: Identifying Hazardous Substances

Module eleven details about several hazardous substances, maintaining chemical data sheets and warning label.

Module 12: COSHH Risk Assessment: Identifying Hazard and Assessing Risk

In Module twelve, we explore ways to identify potential risk based on the COSHH regulations. Learners will also find out the basic skills needed for a risk assessment.

Module 13: Control Measures and Monitoring

From this module, learners will find out about the food practices while working in a lab and monitoring laboratory operations.

Module 14: Implementation of Control Measures

The final module teaches learners how to make sure control measures are implemented well and potential sources of hazards are timely monitored to ensure full safety of personnel involved.
